The Weekly Preview

In the spirit of opening day, I just had to share this muralist that came to my attention recently.  It doesn't matter if you have already done the nursery, kids' room, or playroom (check out this basement playroom in New Canaan, CT.).  Peruse these works of art just for the fun of it!  M-C Lamarre of New Bedford, MA has the goal of painting the Green Monster in every state by April 2012 spread the word!

If you like Hanna Andersson or you want some more eco-choices for your kids' clothes check out the sale at Polarn O. Pyret.  They have kids clothing and mom-to-be clothing.  I don't have any experience with their clothes, but the website looks cute and their prints are fabulous.

Barefoot Books in Porter Square, Cambridge is closing.  They are having a sale through April, which may or may not mean they are already closed.  I will try to stop by and see if they are still selling anything.  They did not look completely closed when I drove by a few days ago.  If you need a book or gift in the area, head over to welcome Twinkle Star Baby to the neighborhood or visit Henry Bear's Park in their new Porter Square location and don't forget the great selection of books at independently owned Porter Square Books  and of course just up the road Stellabella Toys or for a little eco-shopping just down a bit toward Harvard Square is Greenward.

Majestic Yoga, a cute little yoga studio in Huron Village now offers wonderful children's yoga classes on Friday afternoons.  It is a great way to end the week and start the weekend grounded, relaxed and open to whatever comes their way.  My daughter loves Tara who keeps the class moving along with stories, soothing rites, and child appropriate yoga poses.  Classes are available on a drop in basis.  Hi Rise is a great pre-yoga stop or post yoga treat. Playgrounds are the top entertainment spot this time of year with the warmer weather.   Head home for a quick snack and homework or off to lessons, then pack a dinner picnic and enjoy an evening at the playground.  On Tuesday, the weather might be a bit wet so you can check out the new Muckykids Art Studios.  Drop in hours are from 10-2:00 on Tuesdays.
